Un vuelo de la aerolínea American Airlines que hacía la ruta Key West-Washington tuvo que aterrizar de emergencia cuando en el despegue impacto a un ave de gran tamaño.
El vocero de la aerolínea, Casey Norton, dijo que el piloto apagó uno de los motores como medida preventiva y regresó al aeropuerto.
El vuelo era operado por Republic Airways. Norton señaló que el avión Embraer E-175 llevaba a cuatro tripulantes y 14 pasajeros con rumbo al Aeropuerto Nacional Ronald Reagan en Washington.
