Aunque la cantidad no ha sido declarada, la Patrulla Fronteriza de EE.UU. (USBP) dio a conocer este lunes el aumento de llegadas de embarcaciones a Cayo Hueso.

 Walter N. Slosar, jefe de la USBP en el sector de Miami, en Twitter alertó que los agentes «están respondiendo a múltiples desembarcos de inmigrantes en Cayo Hueso», dijo bajo la etiqueta #HappeningNow.

Además el jefe de la USBP, comentó que tuvieron el apoyo de entidades asociadas para responder al arribo a tierra de los migrantes, agregando que el fin de semana «27 inmigrantes cubanos fueron puestos bajo custodia federal después de tocar tierra en los Cayos de Florida».

Este lunes dijo Slosar que 33 migrantes fueron puestos bajo custodia en la mañana, durante la llegada en diferentes lugares de los Cayos de dos embarcaciones.

Más de 4,600 se han interceptado en el mar por autoridades de Estados Unidos en lo que va del año fiscal 2022 iniciado el 1ro de octubre, independientemente de las realizadas por los agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza en el mismo periodo de tiempo.

De acuerdo a cifras oficiales al finalizar el mes de julio se disparó la entrada de cubanos por puntos fronterizos de EE.UU., con 177,848 registros de petición de asilo político.

El Departamento de Aduanas y Protección de Fronteras (CBP) muestran que durante julio la avalancha de cubanos por las franjas fronterizas del territorio estadounidense subió a 20,496, luego de un ligero descenso registrado en junio (16,448).

Superando lo previsto por expertos y autoridades que vaticinaron la entrada ilegal de más de 150 mil inmigrantes cubanos al finalizar el año fiscal 2022 ( que termina el último día del mes de septiembre).
