La Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (SSP) de Veracruz, México, informó ayer domingo que la policía detuvo a 18 migrantes cubanos y a los coyotes que los transportaban, informa Martí Noticias.

Una nota del SSP, identificó a los detenidos como Ariel Amed, Alejandro, Adrián, Arturo y José Luis «N», vinculados al presunto tráfico de migrantes.

Los once hombres y siete mujeres de origen cubano, iba a bordo de cuatro vehículos con placa de Yucatán; Puebla y Quintana Roo, mientras atravesaban el puente El Corchal, en el municipio de Hidalgotitlan, cuando fueron interceptados por las autoridades.

18 personas de origen cubano fueron trasladadas al Instituto Nacional de Migración.

Una nota oficial de la Guardia Nacional en conjunto con la Policía Federal explicó que los hechos formaron parte del operativo «Unidos para la Construcción de la Paz», en el que participaron las secretarías de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA), Marina-Armada de México (SEMAR), entre otros organismos.

Los cubanos recibieron alimentos, atención médica, y permanecen en la estación migratoria del municipio de Acayucan, a la espera de lo que decidan hacer las autoridades.
