Trabajadora por más de diez años en la cadena de Univisión, la periodista Lourdes del Río publicó un mensaje en sus redes sociales muy feliz por haber vencido el cáncer.

Cuenta en su Facebook a sus seguidores la noticia que le diera su oncóloga de que estaba libre de la enfermedad.

«Ya hicieron todo lo que había que hacer. Sigo lidiado con mi problema de las quemaduras que me ha dejado la radio, pero eso se irá con el tiempo, y los chequeos que tengo que seguir de ahora en adelante. Pero estoy tan agradecida y tan feliz que necesitaba compartirlo con ustedes”, dijo en el video.

En el mes de abril a la periodista le habían diagnosticado un cáncer de seno, lo que la obligó a someterse a varios tratamientos.

Lourdes se graduó en 1986 en Comunicación Pública, en Puerto Rico, país donde nació. Después de cinco años se radicó en Miami realizando estudios en Periodismo electrónico en Barry University.

«Desde hace 18 años Lourdes trabaja con Univision donde funge como Corresponsal del Noticiero Nacional en Miami, cubriendo diferentes eventos noticiosos como las elecciones presidenciales, los atentados terroristas del 11 de septiembre, y más recientemente el ataque ocurrido en la discoteca Pulse de Orlando. También fue la única periodista que pudo transmitir en vivo, en español, la devastación que dejó el histórico huracán Katrina», recoge su ficha en Univision.
