Ocho medallas para estudiantes cubanos en certamen iberoamericano de informática/Imagen tomada de Granma
Estudiantes cubanos de preuniversitario ganaron ocho medallas, dos de oro, la misma cantidad de plata y cuatro de bronce, en la recién concluida Competencia Iberoamericana de Informática y Computación (CIIC), un evento realizado en distintas sedes en provincias este año, por la compleja situación epidemiológica que tiene La Habana, ante la pandemia de Covid-19, reporta Diario de Cuba.
Además de los cubanos concursaron también jóvenes extranjeros, en total 115, procedentes de países como Brasil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, México, República Dominicana, Venezuela, Perú, España y Portugal.
Según el portal oficialista Cubadebate, 12 cubanos integraron la selección nacional, entre ellos cinco de la central provincia de Villa Clara, dos de Granma y de Las Tunas, uno de Cienfuegos y otro de Pinar del Río.
El certamen virtual se celebró el pasado 5 de septiembre, sábado, desde las 9:00 am, el mismo tuvo una duración de cinco horas.
Mientras Argentina estuvo a cargo de coordinar la participación y confeccionar el temario de ejercicios, el concurso se gestionó a través de una plataforma informática desde México.
Cuba se ubicó en el tercer lugar dentro del escalafón de países que participaron, Brasil quedó en el segundo puesto y México en el primero.
A fines de este mes de septiembre cuatro de estos jóvenes cubanos deben participar también vía online, en la Olimpiada Internacional de Informática (IOI, por sus siglas en inglés), coordinada desde Singapur.
