La oficina de la campaña del gobernador de Florida aclaró hoy que los cubanos estarían exentos de la nueva política del gobernador de Florida de enviar inmigrantes ilegales para Delaware.

La aclaración vino después de que la vicegobernadora del estado, la cubanoamericana Jeannette Nuñez respondiera a una pregunta sobre la ola de cubanos llegando al sur de la Florida asegurando que muchos serían enviados al estado del presidente Biden.

Cuando se le preguntó sobre la ola histórica de migración cubana al sur de Florida, Núñez dijo, en parte: “Es por eso que el gobernador ha trabajado con la legislatura, para asegurar fondos para asegurarse… de que las personas que vienen ilegalmente… no quedarse aquí con los brazos cruzados, pensando en lo que podrán hacer. Vamos a enviar a esa persona, francamente, a Delaware, el estado natal del presidente” reportó Local 10 News.

“Esto va a ser peor que el Mariel, peor que todo lo que pasó cuando vimos el impacto de los 80 y no hacer nada no es una opción” dijo la vicegobernadora provocando muchas críticas.

La jefa de campaña de DeSantis aseguró que las palabras de Nuñez fueron sacadas de contexto.

«(Núñez) dijo claramente que aquellos que vienen ilegalmente deberían ser transportados fuera de Florida, sin importar de dónde vinieran”, dijo Pushaw. “Si alguien vino a Miami en una balsa desde Cuba para escapar de la represión comunista, esa persona es legal porque es un refugiado. Esto no es difícil de entender.» dijo.
