Frank Camilo Morejón y Erlys Casanova dos jugadores de béisbol cubanos acaban de ser contratados por el italiano Parma que ha calificado de fenomenal los fichajes, reportaron medios estatales cubanos, citados por Cubanet.

Morejón ha jugado en la Isla 14 temporadas en la Serie Nacional de Béisbol, en su registro cuenta con bateo para 313 de promedio, y era el receptor de Industriales.

La emisora cubana Radio Habana Cuba, dio a conocer un comunicado del Parma sobre el cátcher cubano: “es un jugador con una gran personalidad detrás del plato: un verdadero ‘director’, un terror también de los ladrones de base”.

Las autoridades deportivas de la Isla (INDER), desde 2013 autoriza los contratos en el extranjero de atletas de alto rendimiento de la Mayor de las Antillas, y desde entonces peloteros isleños con la mediación del Gobierno cubano han firmado con clubes profesionales de Japón, Italia, Canadá, México, Colombia y Panamá.

Las contrataciones exceptúan a Estados Unidos, escudándose en el embargo económico que los vecinos del Norte aplican a Cuba, no obstante el Gobierno cubano y Grandes Ligas han mantenido conversaciones en referencia a este tema.

Los lanzadores cubanos Wilber Pérez, Vladimir Baños y Yosvany Torres figuran entre los contratados por otros clubes italianos.
