Lin-Manuel Miranda. El creador de Hamilton reunió a un grupo de amigos famosos para grabar la canción “Almost Like Praying” (casi como rezar), en el tema musical participan cantantes como Camila Cabello, Luis Fonsi, la cubanoamericana Gloria Estefan y Jennifer López, entre otros.

Esta canción fue realizada con la idea de recaudar fondos para la isla del encanto, ya sea por escucharla en línea o bajar la canción, lo recaudado irá destinado al fondo de ayuda para desastres de la Hispanic Federation.

“Cada cual está haciendo lo que sabe. Nunca en mi vida he visto tanta movilización”, comentó Miranda a Associated Press.

“Todos lloramos. Gritamos. ‘¡Conseguimos un verso de Puerto Rico!’”, señaló.

“Eso te da un ejemplo del esfuerzo y la cooperación que implicó hacer esta canción”.

El tema que a Lin-Manuel Miranda le había tomado 72 horas grabar, nombra los 78 municipios de la isla.

La analogía con la canción María de West Side Story no pasa inadvertida y es un guiño al nombre del huracán que devastó la isla el 20 de septiembre, que ha dejado a un gran número de boricuas desplazados.

Miranda expresa que le gustaría que el gobierno hiciera más.

“Este es un desastre sin precedentes y requiere de una respuesta federal sin precedentes también”, indicó. “Aún no han tenido esa respuesta sin predecentes del gobierno federal. Yo ando de arriba abajo, esperando por esa respuesta que ayude a nuestra gente”.

La cubanoamericana Gloria Estefan viajó con su esposo, Emilio Estefan, en una misión humanitaria de Jet Blue a comienzos de esta semana. La cantante no sólo documentó el viaje en los medios sociales sino que también ayudó a componer la canción utilizando un verso del rapero puertorriqueño PJ Sin Suela, informó Miranda.
