Pedro Antonio Marcuello Guzmán, ciudadano cubano residente en Miami ha sido acusado formalmente ante un jurado Federal bajo cargos de conspiración, transporte y posesión de propiedad robada. El cubano y su cómplice una ciudadana de México habían sido arrestados desde el pasado 17 de Julio cuando intentaron venderla la pieza de arte a agentes del FBI encubiertos.
La pieza robada fue extraída del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas y estaba valorada en unos 3 millones de dólares. Antonio Marcuello Guzmán intento vendérsela a los agentes por 740 000 dólares con los cuales se reunió varias veces hasta cerrar la venta. De ser hallados culpables podrían enfrentar una condena de 10 años de cárcel.
