La restauración del Capitolio, a cargo de la Oficina del Historiador de La Habana, con la colaboración de la empresa MD Projektmanagement GmbH, recibió el premio Bernhard Remmers 2016, otorgado por la academia del mismo nombre, según informó el diario oficial Granma.
En su novena ceremonia, el jurado otorgó el premio teniendo en cuenta el desafío que supone la restauración de la colosal obra, una de las joyas arquitectónicas más importantes de Cuba, Monumento Nacional desde el 15 de noviembre del 2010, indicó el reporte.
Al acto de entrega, realizado en la ciudad alemana de Leipzig, asistió una representación de la Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana encabezada por Perla Rosales, su directora adjunta.
De carácter bianual, el Bernhard Remmers Preis reconoce el trabajo por la conservación del patrimonio arquitectónico. Asimismo, distingue la labor de especialistas, restauradores y todos los que contribuyen al mejoramiento y conservación de aquellos sitios de incalculables valores históricos.
