El próximo fin de semana iniciará la temporada de cruceros en Cuba, en la que se espera recibir a unos 600.000 viajeros.
Entre los 14 buques que visitarán la rada habanera en esta temporada con un total de 90 escalas, pudieran desembarcar unos 600.000 cruceristas en la capital cubana. Además, las principales compañías de cruceros basadas en territorio estadounidense han expresado su interés de incluir puertos cubanos a las autoridades de la isla.
Esta temporada incluye escalas en los principales puertos de la isla con barcos de mediano porte como el MSC Opera, de la compañía MSC Cruises, con capacidad para 2.600 pasajeros. Este hará 17 escalas en Cuba.
El MSC Armonia llegará a La Habana, a partir de noviembre de 2016. Con este recorrido se duplicará el número de itinerarios de la firma por el Caribe. Se espera que se produzca un aumento considerable de entradas a la isla por vía marítima que, no obstante, puede poner en tensión las capacidades logísticas y operacionales del sector marítimo-portuario cubano.
