A propósito del aumento de la represión por parte del Gobierno cubano a los activistas y a la sociedad civil en general durante los últimos días, con motivo de la inauguración de la XIII Bienal de La Habana, la ONG Amnistía Internacional ha dado a conocer al régimen de Miguel Díaz-Canel que monitorea las acciones de hostigamiento contra los artistas cubanos y la población en general en la Isla, informa Martí Noticias.

AI se ha mantenido actualizando su Twitter, e informando que estaba al tanto de lo sucedido con el artista plástico cubano Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, quien fue arrestado durante cuatro días, por realizar un performance en homenaje al opositor Daniel Llorente, conocido como El Hombre de la Bandera por haber tenido el valor de sacar una bandera estadounidense en medio del desfile del 1 de mayo de 2017 en la Plaza de la Revolución, frente a los ojos de Raúl Castro.

Las autoridades pusieron en libertad a Otero Alcántara este lunes en La Habana tras cuatro días de arresto, en los que sus familiares desconocían su paradero.

Amnistía advirtió en un mensaje anterior que el Gobierno de la Isla asfixiará las artes y a artistas como Iris Ruiz y Sandor Pérez Pita.

La organización pidió al designado presidente cubano Miguel Díaz-Canel en una misiva que ofrezca un espacio seguro y para la libertad de expresión, y escuche las voces del arte y la cultura.

Asimismo el organismo exige que Cuba derogue el Decreto Ley 349 y proteja las libertades de sus ciudadanos.
