El próximo 1 de octubre comenzará a circular un nuevo diario en México, llamado ContraRéplica, bajo la dirección del periodista cubano Rubén Cortés.

En junio pasado, Cortés dejó la dirección del periódico La Razón, el egresado de periodismo de la Universidad de La Habana señaló que “de mutuo acuerdo y por así convenir a sus intereses” daban “por terminada su relación laboral”, en alusión al diario La Razón.

A través de un documento, la empresa reconocía el profesionalismo del cubano “que hizo del periódico un referente en los medios de comunicación impresos a nivel nacional”.

Cortés presentó su nuevo proyecto profesional como “una ventana al mundo, que privilegia la información y el conocimiento, que no acepta verdades absolutas… como corresponde al oficio más arriesgado y apasionante del mundo”.

El pinareño de 54 años reside en México desde 1995, es también cronista y novelista, además sigue llevando la columna “Canela Fina”, que se publica en El Arsenal.

Según el portal López-Dóriga Digital, Rubén Cortés es uno entre los millones de cubanos que decidieron salir de la Isla para buscar la libertad, y vivir una vida mejor.

Ha sido corresponsal de guerra, y autor de libros como Los nómadas de la noche; Crónicas de guerra, Afganistán e Irak en el frente de batalla.

Además fue subdirector general del periódico La Crónica de Hoy, jefe de la portada en el diario Reforma, director editorial en el noticiario Hechos de Javier Alatorre, en TV Azteca, profesor en la Universidad Iberoamericana.
