El informe mensual de la Comisión Cubana de Derechos Humanos y Reconciliación Nacional (CDHRN) arrojó que al menos 330 cubanos fueron detenidos arbitrariamente en el mes de abril, por motivos políticos.

Aunque muchos de los opositores dentro de la Isla, fueron liberados a las horas, o durante el mismo mes de abril, diez de ellos permanecen en prisión; y dos fueron condenados bajo el argumento de que no han pagado las multas impuestas por la policía política en Cuba, ha sido el caso de los disidentes Nieves González Matamoros y Lázaro García Matamoros.

Unas 319 detenciones se reportaron en marzo, y 33 casos de hostigamientos y ultraje, además de 9 agresiones físicas registradas por la policía y sus oficiales.

El mes pasado, se verificaron 66 casos de hostigamiento por parte del propio cuerpo policial, modalidad que también tiene como objetivo el desgaste de los activistas pacíficos en el país, de sus familiares y amigos.

El informe indica: “dichas acciones represivas están dirigidas a mantener una atmósfera de intimidación en su entorno. Esta situación represiva seguirá prevaleciendo bajo el tardocastrismo, a menos que ocurra un milagro, pues no existen factores al interior de la sociedad cubana o desde el contexto internacional que puedan influir, de manera efectiva, para que el régimen acepte la necesidad de reformas democráticas y respete los estándares internacionales en materia de derechos humanos”.

Añade que en el mes de abril el gobierno cubano continuó prohibiendo la salida al extranjero de opositores, como ocurrió en los casos de las Defensoras de derechos humanos Dulce Amanda Durán, Roseling Peñalvar y Wendis Castillo, quienes no pudieron acudir al Foro Paralelo de la sociedad civil durante la VIII Cumbre de Las Américas, realizada en Lima, Perú.
